By popular demand, Frontier Travel Club is returning to Japan.  After our 2019 trip to this wonderful country we decided that this is a trip we should repeat every five years or so.  On our last trip we traveled to Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hakone, Osaka, Hiroshima, and many other great destinations around these cities.  On our repeat tour, we’re going to hit many of the same cities but we have some other great destinations that we missed on our last trip which we will visit on this one.

This time of year is also very special as it is Sakura, the Cherry Blossom Festival.   The Japanese take this time of year extremely seriously and much energy is spent enjoying the beauty of the country while the trees are in bloom.  We will get to enjoy this in the Grand Palace area in Tokyo, the historic Gion District of Kyoto, and throughout the little towns we will visit along the way.  Sakura is surely the best time of year to travel to Japan and we couldn’t imagine being there at another time of year.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Japan has so much to offer such as great food and wonderful cultural experiences.  Furthermore, the Japanese people are wonderfully polite adding to the unique experience this country has to offer.

On this tour, we will spend a little extra time in the lesser traveled locations such as a few of the hot springs areas.  The Japanese believe that nature is necessary for health and prosperity and we’re going to take these beliefs and make them our own on this tour.

Our trip to Japan will be fully guided by local Japanese guides who will, like on our last tour, be with us every step of the way from arrival to departure.  Given the language barrier, this is the only way for a group to travel through Japan.

Single Supplement rooms are available at $2500

We must have a minimum of 10 travelers to run this tour.

Frontier Travel Club will embark on a two week tour of Greece.  This time, we will spend a week on land and another week aboard the NEW Norwegian Viva.

A trip to Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, and Heraklion offers a perfect blend of ancient history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. Each destination in this Greek itinerary provides unique highlights, making the journey an unforgettable experience.
Starting in Athens, the cradle of Western civilization, visitors are immediately immersed in a city where ancient history and modernity coexist harmoniously. The Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, dominates the skyline, with the Parthenon standing as a testament to ancient Greek architectural genius. The Acropolis Museum and the National Archaeological Museum house vast collections of artifacts that provide deeper insights into Greece’s storied past. Plaka, the old neighborhood of Athens, offers charming, narrow streets filled with shops, cafes, and traditional tavernas, perfect for evening strolls and dining.
Next is Mykonos, known for its vibrant nightlife and stunning beaches. The island’s iconic windmills, particularly those in Chora, make for picturesque views and excellent photo opportunities. Mykonos Town (Chora) itself is a maze of narrow, winding streets lined with whitewashed buildings, boutique shops, and bustling bars. Mykonos is also close to Delos, an island of great archaeological significance, which can be visited on a day trip.
Santorini, famed for its breathtaking sunsets and dramatic views, is a must-visit. The island’s caldera, formed by a volcanic eruption, provides stunning vistas from towns like Fira and Oia. Oia, in particular, is famous for its sunset views, attracting visitors from around the world. The unique black, red, and white sand beaches, such as Kamari, Red Beach, and Perissa, are a result of the island’s volcanic activity and are strikingly beautiful. Additionally, the archaeological site of Akrotiri, a well-preserved Minoan Bronze Age settlement, offers fascinating insights into ancient life.
Rhodes, with its rich medieval history, offers a different facet of Greek heritage. The Old Town of Rhodes, another UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Walking through the Street of the Knights and exploring the Palace of the Grand Master transports visitors back to the era of the Crusades. Outside the old town, Lindos is known for its impressive Acropolis and beautiful beaches. The island’s mix of ancient ruins, medieval architecture, and stunning coastlines make it a diverse and enriching destination.
Finally, Heraklion on the island of Crete is steeped in myth and history. The Palace of Knossos, the center of the Minoan civilization, is a highlight, offering a glimpse into Europe’s oldest city. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum complements this visit with extensive collections from the Minoan period. The city itself boasts a lively atmosphere, with bustling markets, vibrant cafes, and a picturesque harbor. The nearby beaches, such as Matala and Agia Pelagia, provide beautiful settings for relaxation and swimming.
In summary, this itinerary through Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, and Heraklion encapsulates the best of Greece’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern charm, offering travelers a well-rounded and deeply satisfying experience.
